Finding the campsite is very easy, as the directions provided on their website state, the site is on the left of Arundel Road, about 100 yards off of the A27. You arrive through some very standard metal gates, follow the driveway to the right and there’s a sign on the toilet block telling to park here, next to a row of large wooden plant pots. At the other side of the hedge in front of you is reception (owners house), with only the driveway giving you an indication of where the main pitches are.
After checking in with reception, Albert came to the car with my wife to introduce himself, told us about Goodwood Festival of Speed being on, suggesting we didn’t go west the next day and then left us to head to our pitch. You drive to the right around the hedge to find a nice handful of pitches, laid out in a more natural way, surrounded by trees.
Our pitch was down to the bottom right, it was a large area, plenty of room for our small tent and car, although the ground was a little uneven. The owner had told us they weren’t expecting anyone else, so we had no immediate neighbours, only 4 tents onsite at most all the time we were there, however if there had been another tent on the next pitch, they would have been about 5 metres away. At your pitch you’re given a green box for recycle waste and a small green tub for compost waste, the water point is on the right as you first drive in.

There’s only one toilet/shower block onsite, containing 2 sinks, 2 toilets and 2 showers in each men’s/women’s side, no issue for us, but if the site were full I could imagine you have to your times carefully. They were always clean and are modern looking, the shower cubicles are a very good size, although personally I found the shower a little too hot and although there’s a small plastic stool to put your clothes on, I would prefer more hooks. In between the ladies and gents are two washing up sinks and a small bookcase with some information leaflets etc.
In front of the toilet block there’s a small field and to the right a modern looking static caravan, late on in the evening you are likely to see rabbits running in the field, one morning I even caught sight of a deer just as it ran off back into the woods.

The road is quite noisy, there’s quite a few boy racers going past, probably noisier for us, as we were quite close to the road down through the village, more so than the pitches further up, however the road noise never stopped us from sleeping.
We found where we were pitched there were quite a few flies, probably caused by being so close to and surrounded by trees, so remember to zip up your fly mesh panels if you have them.
There are three main supermarkets close by, Sainsbury’s about 5 minutes’ drive, Morrison’s a little further at 10 minutes and Tesco is also about 10 minutes. There’s no WiFi onsite, but I found phone reception to be very good and I’m on O2, I prefer to research the area before we leave home, but having internet access is always beneficial to do some research if plans change.
