Caravan parks have been popular in the UK for quite a few decades now, but have however become increasingly more popular due to the current financial climate, resulting in more people holidaying in the UK. There are quite a few holiday companies now offering 3 or 4 nights stay in a static caravan for 4 people, for as little as £10 and 6 tokens collected out of specific newspapers, giving more families the opportunity for a low cost holiday.
Most caravan sites are very similar, including facilities like a bar, restaurant, games room, kids play area, but we recommend you check each sites details for any specific requirements, as some are bigger than others and offer more facilities/features.
Static caravans can vary in age and size, but again all have very similar fixtures and fittings, with the exception of an optional upgrade that may be offered for an additional fee, which could get you a more modern caravan, with extra features like an outside deck, but it’s also worth checking if the caravan has some form of heating, as not all of them do and in winter months, you will probably want to upgrade to a caravan with heating, if the one they offer doesn’t have it.

Crimdon Dene - Hartlepool - September 2014
Situated North of Hartlepool, the caravan park is an ideal location to visit Hartlepool, Middlesbrough and Sunderland. The caravan we stayed in was to the rear of the site, right in front of the railway line and sadly the trains were fairly frequent. The caravan itself was a little tired, thankfully we got a deal and paid very little, but we wouldn’t have wanted to pay full price for the caravan we stayed in. On site there was an indoor swimming pool, cafe, bar and amusements, but we only went in once for a cuppa before our caravan was ready.

Cresswell Towers
We have stayed here a couple of times now and both times we have had a basic caravan, which included heating. The site is in an ideal location to get to places like Amble and Alnwick and the beach is also only 5-10 minutes walk away. It is an average size site, with games room, bar, restaurant and there is also a swimming pool, but we didn’t use it.
