We have been to Paignton Zoo twice now and have loved it both times and would suggest it takes on average 5 hours, although with kids I imagine it would be more like 6.
There are several large park maps located around the park, but it's advisable to have a map with you (only available as part of the souvenir guide book (£2.95 July 2013)), so you can plan a route to cover everything, but you may want to take into account the show times for those you particularly want to see, so you don't end up at the wrong side when it's on. We watched the Animal Encounters bird show, as we were in that area at that time and although my wife doesn't
find birds as interesting as other animals, she did enjoy it. There are also chances to meet the keepers; again it is advisable to check the times. The souvenir guide book not only provides a map of the park to navigate your way around, but interesting information about the park, animals and plants.
There’s also an opportunity to do a hands on experience, where you can get much closer to the animals and even get to feed the animals. It's a great day out, with a large variety of animals to
see, six different habitats, plants you may have never seen or heard of before and most importantly, ice cream kiosks!
