Florida
We were lucky enough to go to Florida for our Honeymoon in 2010, we had a fantastic time and highly recommend it! Not only are there the theme parks like Disney (check our review pages here) and Universal (check our review page here) to visit, but there are many other beautiful places to see that even we didn't have chance to explore back then, however we are finally returning and are currently in the middle of making plans for our return, hopefully later in the year. Below you can check out our review and pictures from our visit in 2010, but please come back to our website, where by December 2018 we aim to have our newly added reviews, pictures and videos uploaded.
2010 Visit Reviews, Pictures and Videos
While in Florida, we borrowed my sister-in-laws sat nav, which had American maps on it and she had already programmed some locations in. It was great having a sat nav, but we also took an Orlando Map, which I used all the time, even when we had programmed the sat nav, as I prefer to use an old fashioned paper map.
I would highly recommend getting an Orlando Map, it has been designed by a user, so it has a very clear layout, it’s easy to read and use on the move (by the co pilot, not the driver!!).
Click Here to go to their website and get one before you go, it really helps for planning your travels, as well as navigating.

Pirate's Cove Adventure Golf - International Drive
We visited this miniature golf on our last day, it's on International drive not far from our hotel, it was a really good course, some shots are over water and there are 2 courses you can do.

Not being able to swim, this park was a little out of my comfort zone, however I really enjoyed the lazy river, we tried the river rapids, thinking it would be slightly faster and the wife could pull me 'round, as she is a better swimmer, but it was so strong, even she couldn't cope, so we bailed out as soon as we could.
The Mall At Millenia is a large shopping centre, their Christmas decorations were all set up when we visited, which was nice, but i would say it's more of a designer shopping centre and the best thing about it for me (and the real reason we went there), was The Cheesecake Factory! I am a BIG cheesecake fan, so this was a brilliant experience for me, the choice of cheesecakes is massive and the portion sizes are double what we would get here in the UK. Visiting The Cheesecake Factory is a MUST!
Bahama Breeze is a restaurant on International Drive and was within 5 minutes walking distance of our hotel. We went there one evening and had a Fantastic time, really lovely food and excellent service. I loved it so much, I said to my wife I would like to go back, so on our last day in Florida, we went there for some lunch, but the evening experience was better, the atmosphere was different at lunch, not in a bad way, but I preferred the evening meal.
You can get to here very easily on the I-Trolley, we found it a bit too quiet when we visited, there are a few shops and restaurants, but we didn't stay long.
I Ride Trolleys
Great Idea, they look much better than a standard bus, they are built for cheap travel, although the basic interior did not really bother me and they are very popular. The best way travel up and down International Drive, unless you have hired a car.
We were told we had to try one of these famous cafes, so we did and I can't say I was impressed. They are definitely an experience, may have been better if we had been sat on a table for 4, rather than a table for 2, which was almost connected to another families table.
Driving in America
We was very unsure about driving in America, i suppose the picture in our heads was nothing like what we actually experienced. We would always get a hire car at the airport now and have it for the whole holiday, as we found driving very easy. There are quite a few differences in America, one being driving on the opposite side of the road to the UK, but that's not much different to a lot of countries we have visited. Another is the fact that you can use any lane on the interstates, so there is no such thing as undertaking, which surprisingly works very well. The roads are a lot bigger and wider and we would recommend not getting too small a car, a Ford Focus would be an ideal size. There's also a rule about turning right on a red light, which sounded quite strange when i first read about it, however, it's simply a similar thing to what we have in the UK, but the only difference being we have a lane that turns off to the left, in America, the roads all being very straight, they don't have a lane going to the right, it stops at the traffic lights, but if you are turning right and it's safe to do so, then you may turn right, unless there is a sign "No Turn On Red", then your not allowed, at that particular set of lights. |

Walmart
You might find it strange to be reading a review about a supermarket, but these are no ordinary supermarkets! They are massive! And very much like a superstore, selling everything, from food and clothes, to DIY and furniture. You could spend hours in one of these stores, however i wouldn't advise wasting some of your holiday, spent looking around a supermarket, but if you need anything, go to one of these!
