Calle Sur - Cala'n Bosch, Menorca - September 2017
Arriving at the villa, we opened the gates and parked the car on the driveway, walked to the right and found a very quaint, pretty entrance, through the door and you arrive into a square hallway, which the three bedrooms lead of off.
The first is a double room, although a little bit small, it's a nice room and has air conditioning. The second room is a twin, again a little bit small, would be great for kids, however it also has a door out into the rear garden/pool area, which was ideal for us, as when we were out the back using the pool etc, we left the main door locked and used this door for access.
The last bedroom is the larger, ensuite double, which also has a separate area through an archway where the tv is and the air conditioning unit, a nice large arched window. The ensuite felt a little dark, I think it would have been better if the wall between the toilet and shower was a glass panel, like a standard shower cubicle would have and would therefore let more light in.
Still on the ground floor, heading around the corner from the steps, there's the second bathroom another bedroom (single) on your left and at the end a utility area, with washer, sink and ironing board.

Upstairs heading through the door immediately in front of you is the very large, bright living/dining room, although there's no air conditioning upstairs, the room does have a large fan, operated by a switch near the door and remote. Wi-Fi is also available, you can find the passcode in the blue information folder next to the TV. The room has a large sofa and dining table and to the right sliding patio doors, which we found didn't lock properly and have reported it.
Through the patio doors is a part open terrace, which has fantastic sea views, a small table and bar. At the side of the bar is a door, which leads to another terrace and stairs down to the garden at the side of the villa and it's important you keep this door bolted when you're not using it.
Out of the living room door and to the right, there's another door in front of you, which has a toilet, but to your left is a large, bright kitchen. A generous size, not that anyone really uses it much when you're on holiday, but there is a decent size fridge with freezer above, big enough for the all-important ice lollies and ice cubes!

The garden is sort of split in two, with gates on either side of the villa separating the front, (which you only use to park the car on the drive and there's a rotary washing line if needed) and the more important rear pool and seating area.
As mentioned before, the twin middle bedroom leads directly into the rear garden, providing easy access in/out of the villa to get drinks etc when needed. Personally, I would consider making the twin room into the utility room, with mini kitchen area and convert the current utility area and second bathroom into another ensuite double room. However, there would obviously be a cost involved and you would need to go through that room to get to the single room, unless you could somehow provide an alternative access point.
The garden/pool area is nice, I agree with our friends’ comment, that adding pebbles to the garden area at the side of the pool would look nice and it's a shame the right-hand side of the pool is a section that seems wasted. With all that said, the pool area is very nice, a larger pool would be nicer and having the lower seating/BBQ area provides a lovely place for outdoor dining. One thing to note, there are ants about around, so advisable to avoid leaving any bits/crumbs of food, if needed you can buy ant spray from the supermarket and there was also some part used tins in the villa.

The villa is well equipped, there's virtually everything you'll need if you look for it, just remember to be respectful of the items provided and if you use any of the consumables, replace them. The dishwasher is handy, but we found it didn't do a very good job of cleaning, so we washed pots in the sink, there was some washing up liquid under the sink. In the slideshow of pictures below is a map showing the location of the nearest rubbish bins, where you'll find general waste, recycling and glass bins and they are on route to the marina, so you don't have to go out of your way too much.
We really enjoyed staying in the villa, it’s in a nice quiet location, yet only two minutes from the marina and 15 minutes from the lighthouse (cap d'Artrutx). The villa has a nice kind of rustic look and feel, in our opinion there is room for improvement, however these may not suit the owner or other guests and we understand the current owner only bought the property recently, therefore probably has improvements of their own in mind. The only reason we may not return to this villa, would be due to us possibly looking to stay/explore another part of the island, otherwise we would love to stay here again.
