Wolds View Touring Park - July 2017
We had just bought our new tent (Vango Capri 400XL check out our review page here) and having invested a more substantial amount, we were keen to get it up and check it over. However, it was a last-minute search to find a campsite, so I did a search on pitchup, knew we didn't want to travel too far and we were going to have limited of choice of sites with space, I came across Wolds View. It wouldn't have been our first choice based on area, but we were only coming for two nights.
Completed the booking form and email response of details on paying the deposit came through very quick and my wife paid the deposit. I gave them a ring the next day to check they'd received it (normally they would confirm receipt of deposit, but we were booking for the coming weekend, so thought I'd best check). Speaking with Jane she said she'd not checked yet, but would do so and call me back if it hadn't gone through, whilst I was on the phone I also let her know we would probably be arriving late. As we'd just bought a new tent, we wanted to take pictures of our old tent to put up for sale and my wife had suggested we ask if they had a spare field (some sites do) we could use to pitch and take photos, so I asked Jane, sadly being a small site, they didn't. About 10 minutes later Jane rang me back to tell me she'd moved us to a pitch that had plenty of space behind we could use to pitch the old tent to take pictures and to bring it with us and confirmed the deposit had been received.
On arrival Jane came out to meet us, went through the usual details with my wife and took us down to our pitch. As Jane had described, we were at the end of the site (it's an oblong shape, with one-way road around), with loads of space behind.

Jane then explained the electric to us, you pay £5 for the card, but you only use the card at the end of your stay, insert and press the button it registers usage on the card, you then go and pay it when you leave and you also get the £5 back on returning the card.
Looking on their website/Facebook, I’d read they got a coffee shop and reviews mentioned the lovely full English breakfast, so we ditched the cereal plan and headed for breakfast at the coffee shop. What a coffee shop, perfectly decorated, lovely atmosphere, about 8 tables, they do plenty of options and the breakfast is lovely, so much that later that day after a walk into Caistor and back we went back for a coffee and cake.

It had been raining heavy all the way to the campsite and through the night, so the next day we were expecting to pitch the old tent on wet ground, however the ground was dry, you wouldn't even know it had been raining so much! Old tent pitched, photos taken and apart from the breeze it went perfectly, Jane really helped us out letting us do it, greatly appreciated.
On the left, as you come into the site is the toilets, reception with mini shop, washing up/laundry room and then the coffee shop all under one roof. Entry to the ladies and gents’ toilets and showers are through a door that leads to a little hallway, where you will find plenty of information leaflets on the surrounding area and events.

In the men’s there were 3 shower cubicles, (wasn't there long enough to use them), all were very large, 2 toilets, 2 urinals and 4 sinks and the sinks were higher than at most sites, meaning less bending. They were very clean and even had the radio coming through.
The site is adult only, has a good layout with (as per there website), pitches for 40 tourers/motorhomes and 20 tents. It's a very beautiful, well-kept peaceful site and we are glad to have found it and look forward to returning.
