Tenerife was one of the first
holidays me and my wife went on together and as she had previously worked in Tenerife, she
knew Tenerife quite well and also had experience driving abroad, so I let her do most
of the driving. We were given a Citroen Picasso as a hire car, which was nice,
however a little bigger than we needed and getting around some of the towns was
a nightmare, especially with all the road works there was at the time we
visited, so it should be a lot better now.
_We stayed in Los Cristianos, which felt
like it was out of the way a little, but yet it was actually an ideal
location for us and there were plenty of shops and restaurants within
walking distance of our apartment, but then we had the car to travel
around the island and my wife’s knowledge of Tenerife helped alot.
We visited Loro Parque in the north of the island which was great and had some shows on, as you can see in my pictures. There are some very nice places to visit, including Mount Teide, which if you do some research you may find a coach trip already going and you can pay to join that coach.

Submarine Safaris
It may be of interest to you to look into the Submarine Safari, I wish I'd have had the time to do it, when we were in Lanzarote, however they do also have a base in Tenerife, located in the south of the island at Marina San Miguel.
