Cardiff - December 2017
We chose to use the Cardiff East Park and Ride, located about 10 minutes off Junction 30 of the M40. Arriving in the town centre, we were pleased to find the christmas market was on, the wooden huts spread across several streets. The centre is quite large, has a variety of shops and restaurants throughout the town and a modern shopping centre called St Davids.
About a 15 minute walk from the town centre is Cardiff Bay, where you'll find the striking Millennium Centre, with plenty of cafe's and restaurants on the waterfront, however you won't find many shops there.

Porthcawl
Quite a large place, with a massive marina, but we didn’t explore beyond the marina the day we visited.

This is only a small place to visit, but the main attraction is to walk along the cliff tops, right to the end and you will find a great spot to have a picnic, looking out to the sea. You can walk further down onto a rocky beach, but we sat on the grass at the top looking down. There is also a massive beach down below, which you can get to before you head across the cliff tops. This is a fantastic, beautiful, scenic place, with a large carpark and I would highly recommend visiting!!
