We first visited Forbidden Corner around 2007 and we really enjoyed it and was keen to revisit, so we finally visited again in August 2014 with some friends and their kids. You can’t turn up on the day, you have to book a day and time slot, which I understand why, but it’s a little annoying if it’s bad weather when you visit.
On arrival you are directed up the ramp into the shop, where you queue behind a small barrier, waiting to be called to the till, we found this very strange, as there’s only one till and the queue soon builds up, so it was a bit disorganised, especially considering the pre-booking only.

When you start, you are given a piece of paper with circles on and as you walk around, you have to look out for some large coins on the wall, then use a coin to rub over on the paper, we thought this was a great idea for the kids to do, however we didn’t actually find them all, It’s really easy to walk straight past them when you’re looking at other things.
You are also given a map, well it’s not really a map, it’s basically a collage of pictures and as you walk around, you can mark off all the interesting things you see. In our opinion, it would have been ideal to have an actual map or some kind of route system, although part of the experience is being a maze, it’s very frustrating when you’ve walked up the same path several times and still haven’t found everything.
We decided to take a picnic with us, but didn’t realise we couldn’t eat while inside, there is a picnic area, however it’s next to the car park, so we had to come all the way back out, which isn’t a problem with tickets, as you’re allowed come in and out, but we had to pass a large queue and then cut through people to get back through the door.

There’s loads to see and find inside and you can see a small sample in my pictures below, but be aware there are some dark tunnels, steep steps and some narrow sections, we managed to get around ok, the kids were a little scared at times and we would have preferred some lighting low down to gently illuminate where you walk and think it could be easily done without spoiling the experience.
In summary, it's a very unique place and fun place to visit, we enjoyed our day, but feel in the years since our first visit, it hasn’t changed much and needs some improvements and updates making.
