Diamond Caravan Park
We were lucky enough to get a pitch in the cul-de-sac, as we'd requested, which meant we got a more private pitch, with hedges dividing them, (like most of the hard standing pitches are), however the pitches are not very deep. We had brought our smaller tent, which is a Gelert Seattle 4 and we had also sold our estate car recently, so we brought everything in my wife’s Honda Civic and with the tent and Civic, we had no real space left, so if you have a bigger tent or a trailer, you will probably be pitching on one of the tent fields, which are a little less private.

The site looked very picturesque, not too open, very neat, clean and tidy. Wash facilities are near the reception and not too far from the tent pitches. The facilities are pretty similar to most, with 3 showers, 3 sinks (+ 1 sink in a cubical) and 3 toilets, (that’s in the men’s). I was pleased to see the shower (and toilet) cubicles were a decent size, a shelf and hooks to keep your clothes off the floor while you’re in the shower (the showers are heated using a solar heating system) and a curtain to stop the shower spraying where you would stand to get dressed again. The shower was the typical push button and had the rain water style head, at first I felt it was a little too hot, but I got used to it.

There's
a washing up/laundry room, with two washing machines, tumble dryer and sinks,
there’s also a freezer you can use to freeze your ice packs. At the opposite
side to the toilet block is the bins, but hidden behind the wall is an outdoor
pool, which is also heated using a solar system, it’s not as hot as would be if
it was heated using a normal heating system, but it also depends on the weather,
there's also a bar/restaurant, games room, small shop in reception, takeaway
and play area.
The site is located on a country road, which seems to be busier than you'd expect late at night and it’s a 50 road, but they did sound to be going rather fast.
