Parkers Farm Holiday Park
July 2016
The last time we stayed here was in July 2013, that time we brought our tent, however this time we stayed in a static caravan. Arrival in reception we were greeted by friendly staff, we checked in and got keys for the caravan, the site has a barrier before you can get to the pitches/caravans, so we left a £10 deposit for a barrier card.
The caravan is virtually identical to ones we stayed in at other sites, with 1 double and 2 twin bedrooms, 1 bathroom with shower and 1 without. The living area is nice, fairly modern, although we were surprised at the small portable tv, it did have freesat which was good. The kitchen has plenty of cupboard space, the fridge is slightly smaller than your standard 1 at home and there's a decent size oven, although the grill wouldn't light with the spark.
WiFi is available around the site through club wifi, there a variety of payment options, depending on how long you want access and for how many devices. We chose the 1 week option of £15 for upto 2 devices, the only downside is if you want to logon with a different device you need to be logged off 1 for 30 minutes.
Parkers Farm is in a good location on the A38 (dual carriageway), meaning you are only 15 minutes from Newton Abbott and about 25 minutes from Torquay. If you want to head east you need to head west on the A38 a short distance and come off at the first junction to cross over and go back down the other side of the carriageway. There was a country lane running to the right out of the site, but we didn’t travel that way, however we did take the lower lane below the site, which was very tight and we wouldn’t recommend using it or find it was any quicker.

Previous Camping stay review July 2013
The pitches are along lettered rows and tiered, which I thought made it a little more private and you didn’t feel to be surrounded by other tents/caravans, but also a great view, a bit like being in the cinema. We were at the beginning of row E, meaning we had a great end pitch, with plenty of room for our car and even the trailer if we had brought it. The view was great, although you could see and hear the road, not that it really bothered us that much.
The facilities at the end of row D were a little outdated, there were 3 shower cubicles and I found the shower was very hot and even my wife who does like a hot shower, mentioned the heat. The shower block lower down was a more modern facility, with 2 showers and a vanity wash cubicle.
