Bruges
We visited Bruges (P&O Mini Cruise) back in 2008 and loved it, so we decided to go back in 2011. When visiting Bruges, you will notice, there are loads and loads of chocolate shops, which is no real surprise, however last time we visited, (being near Easter) they had very Easter related window decorations, but this year there wasn't as much dramatic displays, but a lot of them had the same items.
Although last time we got lost and walked ‘round a few more streets than necessary, we did still find some streets we hadn't been down before and there are many beautiful streets and buildings in Bruges. Although the architecture is great, it sort of blends in, as all the buildings have great architectural features. The streets are all cobbled and there was many horses taking visitors ‘round in an open top carriage.

We remembered that one of the square court like areas had some government looking buildings and in there was also an indoor shopping Arcade, which we was stopped by a gentlemen dressed in a costume like one of the three musketeers would wear. He asked us where we were from and when mentioning our local town/city, he followed by mentioning a local area, as if he knew it well, however I suspect he has a local area ready for several towns and cities in the UK and would therefore use the same story on all visitors. He then tried to talk us into having a picture done of us both, which we declined, as we walked away I had a feeling he had stopped us the last time we visited and said exactly the same things to us then. The Christmas market was great to look around and made the market square very busy, I would recommend getting a map before you go and selecting the places you want to go and see and plan a route, as there are many pretty places to look at, that even we didn’t get to see.
The below pictures are form our visit in 2008.
