Seaton – July 2013
The coastal town of Seaton is a fairly quiet and peaceful place to visit, with a long promenade you can walk along and a massive pebble beach. There’s also a small town centre containing a mix of shops and cafes.

Dartmouth - Last Visit July 2016
This large town has a number of interesting shops, restaurants and cafes; beautiful well kept gardens and parks to wander through and although the seafront is not your typical coastal seafront, as it looks out onto the river Dart, as opposed to the sea; we like to get a pasty from the bakery, find a bench, (watch out for the seagulls above, waiting for an opportune moment to swoop in and steal it), sit and watch the boats go by.
The walk along the promenade is especially beautiful, heading south there’s the lower Kingswear ferry crossing (we usually cross here, Brixham being our next stop) and further beyond, there’s what appears to be an old fort, where the archways in the sea wall provide fantastic framed views.
You can get a small boat that will take you to the castle, surprisingly something we've never done, but I imagine the view out on the water will be even more magnificent and there's also a passenger ferry if you want to take a trip across to Kingswear.
Heading north, you can walk up to Coronation Park, but further along is Dart Marina, which is a lovely modernised area, with a lovely little garden area and it’s very peaceful and the Kingswear higher ferry is located here.
On a glorious day looking across at the beautiful hillside of Kingswear, with its rows of coloured houses, the boats/ferries sailing by, it makes Dartmouth one of my favourite places to visit on the Devon coast.

Bigbury On Sea and Burgh Island
A short walk across Bigbury beach takes you to Burgh island, where you could stop for a picnic on the island on a nice sunny day.

Slapton Ley
This is more of a car park right on the coast, but the attraction, is the way a strip of land splits the sea, so you drive with the sea on either side of you.

Brixham - Last Visit July 2016
When we visit Brixham, it somewhat reminds me of Whitby, with it's beautiful harbour. There's a large car park just off the high street, where there's plenty of interesting shops, restaurants and cafes to visit. The inner harbour area is the main area, with a bustling environment, but the part I like most about Brixham, is heading down a pathway at the side of the new modern fish market, where it opens out to a beautiful, tranquil outer harbour area, with the marina in the distance across the other side and we can sit here for ages, just watching the world go by. You can walk back around the inner harbour and down the other side, where you can find some beautiful little garden areas and finally arrive at the marina.

Torquay – Last Visit July 2016
I love visiting Torquay (and Devon in general), it has a great holiday feel about it, with the large seafront to walk along, loads of shops to look in, restaurants and cafe’s to stop for a cuppa or a bite to eat, including Oggy Oggy pasty shop, highly recommended! There’s a large beach, tennis courts, bowling green and Jungle Journey Adventure Golf (check out our pictures on our crazy golf webpage here) and amusements for those who wish to gamble. You can easily spend a day here and would even make a great place to find accommodation.

Dawlish - July 2013
This lovely coastal town is a little different to most seafront places, there is a river (Dawlish Water), running through the centre of the town, where you will see black swans, which is a nice place to sit with a pasty from Gay’s Creamery or an ice cream from Sticky Fingers. Heading underneath the railway, looking straight out to sea, you can walk along the seawall, looking down on the beach below. You can walk between Dawlish and Dawlish Warren to the east, but only in low tide.

Dawlish Warren – July 2013
This is a lovely little place to visit, there's a nice beach for kids to play or a large open grassed area for a kick around. There's also a mini theme park, which includes several rides, like go karts, mini train ride, bumper cars and there’s a large slide, but also my favourite family game, crazy golf.

Absolutely Gorgeous, definitely worth a visit and the beach view is fantastic. We didn't walk down to the beach, but you may wish to, but it's a pebble beach.

Hope Cove
Situated on the southern Devon coast, east of Salcombe, this is a tiny village with a small beach and as it’s located off the main travel routes, there are less tourist, but there is not really anything for tourists to see, so the beach appears to be mainly used by the local villagers.
